I swear (even though I never do) that the crockpot has to be one of the best inventions ever! Every time I use that wonderful machine I love it even more. Take today for example...before I started work this morning I put a roast, potatoes, carrots, an onion, and a jar of gravy in our crockpot. By the time my husband got home from work, by some sort of crockpot magic it had transformed all of those ingredients into an amazingly awesome dinner! Not to mention that the whole house smelled fabulous. I thought I would close out this "ode to my crockpot" by sharing one of our favorite crockpot recipes. So....go forth, plug in the crockpot, and get cooking!!!
Melissa Ball's Famous
(in our house anyway)
Crockpot Beef Stew
2 lbs stew meat
1/4 cup flour
McCormick's beef stew seasoning packet
1 can beef broth
1 cup water
2 cups cubed potatoes
1 cup carrots
1 can whole corn, drained
1 can french-style green beans, drained
Place ingredients in crockpot in order listed above,
except the corn and green beans (you'll add those at the end).
Cover and cook on low for 10 to 12 hours or high for 4 to 6 hours.
About 20 minutes before serving stir in
drained green beans and corn.
Enjoy!!!
